Giant Beaver jaw section and teeth

More Information:

Giant beavers or (Castoroides) lived on the North American continent. They grew anywhere from 2 - 3 meters and could have weighed over 100kg / 220 lbs! Other than their teeth structure and possibly theirs tails, which may or may not have been paddle shaped, their anatomy appeared to be similar to today’s modern beaver. However, despite those similarities, Giant Beavers were not close relatives to today's modern beaver.

Giant beaver fossil specimens are very rare. Normally, if a specimen comes to market, it will be just a tooth. A jaw section with its teeth intact is particularly desirable .

This Giant Beaver jaw specimen is in excellent condition. The teeth are fully developed, with just the right amount of wear. The enamel is in very good condition. There is no restoration.

This would be an excellent specimen for any collector, particularly those who have a keen interest in prehistoric mammals from this time period.
