Many of the sculptures we offer are carved by Chinese Master carvers. Their careers are relatively short, averaging between the ages of 35 to 50 years old. At the age of 35, a carver is considered to have had enough experience to be considered a master. Unfortunately, the extreme amount of hand eye coordination required to carve such delicate artistry takes its toll on both a carver's eyesight and steadiness of hand. The artist's body also begins to where down due to the constant hunching over when carving their masterpieces. Therefore, most Chinese Master carvers end their career around 50 to 55 years of age.

This masterpiece was created from an immense ruby crystal in zoisite matrix. The ruby is a beautiful color and has an almost vitreous luster. The piece measures about 7 inches tall and about 7 inches wide without the base and the depth is approx. 2". Included is a custom cut wood base. This is truly a special and rare find.
